MY BIG CRUSH ON OLDER PEOPLE - INSPIRATION

Quando me perguntam quais os meus ícones de moda, beleza ou estilo, penso imediatamente em estrelas dos anos 40, 50 e 60, ou em pessoas "com bastante mais idade" do que eu. Desde designers de interiores, editoras de moda, artistas, curadoras entre outras. Até mesmo os meus actores preferidos são "old school" como Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Jane Fonda, Meryl Streep, etc.
O que me fascina nestas pessoas é o seu percurso, os anos de carreira, o estilo e tudo o que conquistaram. É toda a sua história, irreverência, descontração e alegria de viver, que as tornaram ícones da nossa sociedade.
É mesmo caso para dizer - "Quando for grande quero ser como elas".

When people I ask me about fashion, beauty or style icons, I immediately think about the 40, 50 and 60 generations, or in people quite older than me. From interior designers, fashion editors, artists, curators and many others. Even my favorite actors are old school as Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Jane Fonda, Meryl Streep, etc.
What fascinates me on them is their journey, their careers, their style and everything they have achieved. It's all about their history, irreverence, coolness and joy of living that makes them icons of our society.
When I grow old I want to be just like them!

No meio de muita correria e vários compromissos consegui dar um saltinho à Moda Lisboa e assistir a três desfiles - Filipe Faísca, Dino Alves e Luis Carvalho.

Tenho a dizer que gostei muito das colecções, fiquei apaixonada por vários vestidos e que a organização estava impecável. Notou-se uma grande diferença de qualidade a todos os níveis. 

Parabéns Moda Lisboa, que venham mais 25!!!

In the middle of a lot meetings and work I found some hours of my day to go to Lisbon Fashion Week and watch three shows - Filipe Faisca, Dino Alves and Luis Carvalho.

I have to say that I really liked the collections specially the dresses! The organization and timings are getting better than ever.  I noted a big difference in the quality at all levels (designs, fabrics, concepts etc)

Congratulations to Lisbon Fashion Week for your 25th anniversary and I wish you the best!

Eu amo o Met Gala... mais do que os Oscars!!!

O Costume Institute Gala (Met Gala ou também conhecido como Met Ball), é um baile anual para a angariação de fundos em beneficio do Metropolitan Museum of Art´s Costume Institute em Nova York, e também a inauguração da exposição anual de moda do Costume Institute.

Envolve decoração, jantar, festa, exposição, diferentes pessoas desde da moda, musica, cinema, artes, empreendedores etc., num dos melhores museus do mundo.

Este ano o tema é sobre China: Through the Looking Glass e a exposição estará aberta ao publico desde 7 de Maio a 16 de agosto de 2015.

Em 2012 tive a oportunidade de ver uma dessas exposições, nomeadamente,  Shiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, e foi, sem sombra de duvida, das melhores exposições em que já estive!!! Desde os cenários, roupas, tecnologia, interacção, organização, curadoria, catalogo...se por acaso estiverem por perto não percam!!!

I love the Met Gala ... more than the Oscars !!!

The Costume Institute Gala( also known as Met Ball ou Met Gala), is the annual fundraising ball for The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York, and also the opening of the annual exhibition of the fashion Costume Institute.

It involves decoration, dinner, party, exhibition, different people from fashion, music, cinema, arts, entrepreneurs etc., in one of the best museums in the whole world.

This year's theme is about China: Through the Looking Glass and the exhibition will be open to the public from May 7 to August 16, 2015.

In 2012 I had the opportunity to see one of these exhibitions,  Shiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, and it was one of the best exhibition I've ever been, from the scenarios, clothing, technology, interaction, organization, curation, catalog...
